I have a training session coming up in an hour and a cross-country race next Saturday, when I will be running for my club. I am really excited because there are two years racing in the cross-country I will be running in and I am in the top year. It is 2.5km and hilly, probably muddy and cold - because that is the typical cross-country conditions! I have done a 2.5km in the summer holidays at CarFest in the Great Festival Dash, and I got a time of 10:30. Search into Google 'CarFest Great Festival Dash 2015' if you are interested in that.
That is a good time for my because last season I was getting 11-or 12:00, for the same distance. I am improving! But we have the training session tonight first to do first! I don't know what we will be doing so we will wing it! As it is cross-country season now we are doing more cross-country-related training sessions, so endurance runs on the grass with short rests or just one big run. I prefer these types of sessions to the fast-paced long sprints on the track that we did in the summer track season, but I still enjoy it. Remember, whatever you do, you have to enjoy it. There is no point in doing something for the sake of it if you do not find it fun.

If you are finding it hard to get into running, I highly recommend parkrun. It is very welcoming and encourages people of all abilities to get fit and have fun!
